The mobile industry is an extremely competitive environment where the smallest of incentives could affect massively on turnover and recognition, as retailers and networks constantly drive to negotiate new and exclusive handset deals with the manufacturers we are starting to see new and innovative promotional ideas with entrance of big fashion brand names and now celebrity endorsements.
The latest deal to be struck is between Phones4U and Samsung but with a twist as there is also a celebrity endorsement from Girls Aloud.
This new venture is all to promote the exclusive Samsung F210 in Purple which Phones4U have negotiated with Samsung to be the exclusive sales channel.
The involvement from Girls Aloud means that the handset will be preloaded with lots of the bands content including ringtones such as their latest single, 'Sexy, No No!’ there are also a range of screensavers featuring the band members and other themes to personalize the phone.
The Samsung F210 follows on from where the popular X830 left off and is part of the 'Stick' range of music orientated handsets that are designed to be worn around the neck like an MP3 player.
The focus of the handset is high on music and the exterior features a disc navigation button similar to that found on the leading stand alone MP3 Players, to activate the handset the user simply swivels the phone in half to 180 degrees to reveal the unique keypad first seen in the X830 with two rows of buttons rather than the industry standard three.
The Samsung X830 was released in five different color variants and it seems as though the F210 will follow suit with this new addition in purple and further colors planned with black, white and pink.
The F210 features an upgraded camera to 2. Megapixels with a flash for poor light conditions and night time photography and zoom function for close up picture capture; the camera also supports video record and playback.
There is a substantial 1 GB of internal memory for storing photographs, video clips, music tracks and downloaded files which can be expanded using MicroSD cards.
The integrated Mp3 player can be filled with new music tracks and albums by either connected to a PC with the supplied cable or downloaded direct from the mobile internet, the player also allows for playlist creation so the user can listen to tracks stored under genre or to suit their mood.
The F210 also features Bluetooth technology for wireless connections to compatible devices such as hands free car kits for safe conversation whilst driving, and other Bluetooth enabled mobile phones for quick, wireless file transfer to share music, photos, video clips and content.
The Samsung F210 is an extremely small handset for the amount of features on offer, measuring just 87.7 x 30.9 x 20.4 mm and weighing only 76g, the handset comes with a lanyard so that it can be worn around the neck of the user comfortably.
The collaboration between a celebrity pop band, a high street mobile retailer and a large manufacturer make for an exciting product in the Samsung F210 Purple, a compact, fashionable and stylish handset that packs in some of today's best mobile technology.
